In the typical TER rebellion of "perfection" the Wabi-Sabi series celebrates exactly that - Perfect Imperfection!
Hand selected Rubies, Emeralds and Sapphires chosen for their unique "je ne sais quoi", are cradled in a delicate, elegant but rough and ready frame, cut to capture light and simply sparkle in a contemporary and unruly setting. Hung on a TER signature dainty diamond cut, 14 karat chain, these pieces just glitter!
I look for stones that have some sort of magic about them. I don't care about color any more than it has to be beautiful, so be it a plummy purple ruby or a vibrant fuchsia, an emerald so dark it's almost a hunter green, or so mottled it looks like the planet earth, I don't care, it just has to be extraordinary. I will sit for hours and sift through hundreds just to find 5. It's a process, but when I see it I know it, that's my stone. I love iridescence. I love fault lines. I love color inclusions and quirks. That's what brings a stone to life and sets it apart from any other. I have to fall in love or I can't work with it, and sometimes I'll hold on to a piece for a while before I sell it, just because I know I will be a little bit sad to see the stone go... but happy to know it's loved and adorned by someone else that "get's it",
I know my style isn't for everyone and I'm ok with that. I know some people covet tradition and the idea of a perfect stone, and that's cool, that's just not my wearer. When someone falls in love with one of my stones, and says things like "I love the white lines running through it" or "wow, what are the black splatters" (in a diamond), my heart swells - That's my person!
That's mother nature darling, that's the process, that's what heat and pressure and a billion years look like, and it's absolutely mind blowing.
